Celebration Of World Teens Day


All over the World, TEEN’s Day is celebrated on 1st August. The Dept. of Pediatrics, from padm Dr.D.Y.Patil Medical college Pimpri, Pune is celebrating “World TEEN’s Day” since last two years.



The best TEEN’s age Day celebration award was given to the IAP Pune branch for the year 2008 by IAP Maharashtra state branch conference at Mahabaleshwar.
A programme was arranged for TEEN’s on this occasion in the college auditorium of Dr.D.Y.Patil College, Pimpri from 2 to 4pm.
Many undergraduate students attended this programme. Inaugural ceremony was held on this occasion. Vice chancellor of Dr. D.Y.Patil University
Dr. Dhananjay Kashikar, Vice president IAP Pune highlighted theme of this year “3 idiots – Drug, Media & Tobacco”
Various activities conducted by the Dept. of Pediatrics for Adolescents were highlighted by Dr.Shalaja Mane.
UnderGraduate students - Expressed their TEEN’s Day voluntarily on the theme.
Following 9th semester students expressed their views on this years theme “3 Idiots- Drug, Media & Tobacco”

Dr. suresh Mehta, Asso.Prof. Of Psychiatry Dept.had given talk on “Drugs & TEEN’s“.
Dr.Shailaja Mane, Asso.Prof. Dept.Of pediatrics had given talk “Effect of Media on TEEN’s”.



Dr.Geeta Karambelkar, Prof & Incharge of Adolescent chapter of IAP Pune had given valuable speech on “Help TEEN’s to growth”.
She also stressed the importance of “Life Skills Education” workshop to the students.
• Himanshu Malik from 5th semester had given positive, encouraging feedback on the usefulness of “Life Skills Education workshop” taken for them last year.
• Yogini Bhutte – Patil(Intern in the Dept of Paediatrics)had done hosting for the TEENS Day Celebration.
• Surabhi Sethi undergraduate student from 9th semester had prepared a nice poster on “3 Idiots- Drug, Media & Tobacco” which was displayed in college auditorium.She also had nice Rangoli in front of Auditorium which was highly appreciated by the audience
• The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Vineeta Pande, prof. Dept of Pediatrics.
